Black Hat 2024: New Finds, Great People, and Fresh Motivation
Attending the Black Hat event in Vegas was an unforgettable experience that left me energized and ready to take on new challenges. Walking through the business hall was a real treat. It was flooded with incredible booths from a giant spider poster that gave me actual chills to grocery store-themed setups that were as clever as they were eye-catching. The vibrant colors and memorable presentations ensured I wouldn't forget their company names anytime soon. But what really made the experience special was discovering some truly innovative technologies and meeting the people behind them. A few standouts that caught my eye:
Veriti: Featured in Start Up City, Veriti is doing some truly exciting work in simplifying and automating cybersecurity operations. Their approach makes it easier for businesses to stay ahead of threats by streamlining processes and enhancing security in ways that are both effective and user-friendly.
Qualys: As always, Qualys continues to impress with their robust cloud security solutions. They provide critical visibility and control over hybrid environments, which is a game-changer for maintaining security across complex infrastructures.
KnowBe4: Their approach to security awareness training is not just essential—it’s engaging. They’re making it easier for organizations to educate employees on recognizing and responding to cyber threats, which is key to reducing risks from human error.
Abnormal: Abnormal is taking email security to the next level with AI-driven detection. Their technology is tackling one of the most persistent cybersecurity challenges by identifying and neutralizing threats before they can cause any harm.
Now that I’m back home, I’m more motivated than ever to get these great IT solutions into more amazing companies. I’m excited to take everything I learned and turn it into real-world impact!
